IMAGE DIRECTIONHERO / RETAIL AT SCALE

An energetic but controlled composition of the Auchan digital storefront in a real shopping context: a customer with phone, shopping bags or Click & Collect moment. Use official red and a small green accent; keep the interface legible.

01

THE ASSIGNMENT

The interface had to carry the reality of modern retail.

Bring thousands of choices into one coherent journey.

At this scale, search, promotions, availability, loyalty and fulfilment are not separate features. Each one changes what the customer can see, trust and do next.

We worked across the experience and the delivery decisions behind it, keeping every choice tied to customer clarity and the operational system that had to make it real.

This is a deliberately restrained public account. It describes the shape of the work without publishing confidential decisions, unapproved metrics or claims that belong to the client.
02

THE DIRECTION

Clarity became the operating principle.

01

Orient quickly

Help people understand what is available to them before asking them to navigate a large retail catalogue.

02

Keep value visible

Make offers, loyalty and delivery choices legible without turning the journey into competing messages.

03

Coordinate the system

Treat design, technology and operations as one delivery problem with clear owners and decision points.

03

THE WORKING PRODUCT

Design for the real basket, not the perfect demo.

We made decisions with live retail conditions in view: broad assortments, changing availability, promotions, fulfilment choices and the edge cases that arrive with scale. The product—not a presentation—was the shared source of truth.

IMAGE DIRECTIONREAL RETAIL JOURNEY

A real Auchan desktop or mobile flow with a populated basket, MyCLUB context and a delivery or Click & Collect choice. Avoid empty states and polished-but-unrealistic demo data.

SELECTED EXPERIENCES

Three moments where scale needs clarity.

The final study should show real journeys rather than generic devices. Keep offers and UI readable and use official campaign assets only with approval.

IMAGE DIRECTIONSEARCH + CATEGORY

A dense category or search-results view with filters, availability and product cards visible in one coherent frame.

02

Offers and loyalty

A value story that keeps promotions and MyCLUB benefits understandable at the point of decision.

IMAGE DIRECTIONFULFILMENT

Address, store selection or checkout step showing delivery and Click & Collect options with realistic availability.

03

Delivery with context

Home delivery and Click & Collect choices made legible early enough to shape the right basket.

05

THE SYSTEM

Scale rewards shared rules.

A retail language many teams can use.

Reusable patterns reduce debate around recurring decisions and make customer-facing change safer to deliver. The system creates alignment across product, design, engineering and operations without forcing every need into the same solution.

IMAGE DIRECTIONDESIGN SYSTEM / DELIVERY MAP

A wide working view showing Auchan commerce components, responsive states and the operational journeys they support. Include real annotations or decision notes to show collaboration at scale.

THE OUTCOME

Retail scale with a clearer next step.

The work created a more coherent digital direction for customers and a more usable decision framework for the teams delivering it.

A large organisation does not need fewer perspectives. It needs a shared way to turn them into one useful customer experience.
